It’s a travel-back-in-time Las Vegas weekend. Relive history with a ride-of-a-lifetime onboard a World War II bomber. Celebrate the 25-year reunion of Saigon Kick. And live in an era of antique hot rods, vintage fashions and old-time burlesque stars at Rockabilly Weekend.
Additionally, Las Vegas still has plenty of regular comedy and musical entertainment this Easter Weekend ranging from Matchbox 20 at the Palms to Gabriel Iglesias at The Mirage. Add in 50-year music veterans The Lettermen and boxing legend and Las Vegas resident Mike Tyson, and the spectrum of attractions is unlimited.
The premiere bomber of WWII, the B-29 Superfortress Fifi, is the last in existence, and it’s at the Henderson Executive Airport for a tour of the cockpit and a ride. Viva Las Vegas Rockabilly Weekend at The Orleans is one of the biggest rockabilly parties. The car show last year drew more than 700 cars and 20,000 enthusiasts, and there’s a burlesque showcase and a tiki pool party.
More than 60 bands, plus, DJs, will provide music for the four-day festival, which began in 1998, and includes Little Richard and The Cleftones -- go to JamBase.com for the lineup. Our friends at Sailor Jerry Spiced Rum are sponsoring the escapades and have a tattoo lounge in case the need to ink strikes.
Four-time Mr. Olympia and Las Vegas-based bodybuilder Jay Cutler has his Desert Classic at Pearl at the Palms, and “Iron” Mike is back home from his one-man tour “Undisputed Truth” for meet-and-greet autograph and photo sessions.
