Mayweather and Guerrero Arrive at MGM

Undefeated welterweight boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr. makes his official arrival at the MGM Grand Tuesday, April 30, 2013. Mayweather will defend his WBC welterweight title against Robert Guerrero at the MGM Grand Garden Arena on Saturday. Launch slideshow »

Mint juleps for all! It’s Kentucky Derby weekend, but since we’re in Las Vegas, we’ll forget that sport of kings and concentrate on the long-awaited Floyd Mayweather Jr. fight. Our Las Vegas pugilist takes on Robert Guerrero in the WBC welterweight championship at MGM Grand Garden Arena.

Athletes and celebrities expected to invade en masse for Cinco de Mayo are predicting that it will be Floyd’s victory. Diddy will celebrate it either way when he kicks off Ditch summer season at the Palms, while rival Hakkasan Las Vegas at MGM Grand, closer to the fight action, has another lineup of mega-star DJs.

It’s a win-win lineup of stars and pool parties on and off the Strip with three more dayclubs opening. Nothing comes more loaded with bikinis and bust-lines than the summer pool party season launching at the world’s largest men’s club. Sapphire Dayclub is promising Pamela Anderson, Coco Austin, Crystal Hefner and Playmates Brande Roderick and Angelica Bridges. No wonder basketball bad boy Dennis Rodman is joining them.

Ex-wife Carmen Electra will be here for her birthday party at rival Crazy Horse III. Draw whatever conclusions and make whatever remarks you wish over these dueling appearances at topless venues.

If you are in Churchill Downs in Louisville, pull out your fancy hats for the 139th running of the greatest three minutes in sports. If you’re here, wear the skimpiest of swimsuits and doff the bikini top because it’s a real blowout party weekend. From our post position, we’ve got the odds-on favorites in the party and entertainment scene, with the winning ticket the referee rules is the knockout Royal Robin Rundown:
