Grammy Award-winning R&B singer Ashanti celebrated her 33rd birthday with a weekend in Las Vegas. She kicked off her festivities by dining with friends at Lavo in Palazzo on Saturday night.

Before heading to the upstairs boutique nightclub, she walked the red carpet, posed with her parents and producer L.T. Hutton and dazzled in a purple crystallized dress.

Shortly after arriving at a VIP table in Lavo, Ashanti took the stage to perform her hits, including “Only U,” “Rock Wit U,” “Happy,” “Always on Time” and “What’s Luv.” Afterward, she thanked the crowd for celebrating her birthday with her before returning to her table.

Lavo presented the birthday girl with a pink three-tier cake adorned with a microphone and branded with the name of her upcoming album “Braveheart” set for release in November. Confetti and cheers added to the presentation as partygoers wished her “Happy Birthday.”

Afterward, she ducked into the DJ booth holding a flash drive with her brand new single “First Real Love” featuring Beenie Man. She gave the song to DJ Gusto, who announced the premier to the crowd before playing it.

Dane Cook at Tao

At sister property Tao in the Venetian, comedian and actor Dane Cook started his night at dinner with friends. The group enjoyed grilled 12-ounce Kobe rib eye with yuzu cilantro butter, satay of chicken and wasabi-crusted filet mignon as they toasted to their time in Las Vegas. Afterward, they made their way upstairs to a VIP table in the nightclub, where they partied to the sounds of DJ Vice.

Cook performed his standup at the Venetian Showroom on Friday and Saturday nights. Thanks to Al Powers of Powers Imagery for his photo gallery of Ashanti’s birthday soiree.
