It was a dramatic and emotional moment for millions of TV viewers and a stunned studio audience Monday night on ABC’s “Dancing With the Stars” as Las Vegas amputee Amy Purdy was wheeled off to a hospital after the judges’ voting of her sexy rumba with Las Vegas pro-dancer champion Derek Hough.

The 34-year-old Paralympic snowboarder who lost her legs below her knees after her 19th birthday here due to bacterial meningitis was kept in a hospital overnight but this morning was busy vowing via Twitter, “If I have anything to do with it, I will be dancing next Monday.”

Amy had explained to new “DWTS” co-host Erin Andrews after her dance: “My shoulder’s been bothering me a little bit, and then right after judging, I turned my head, my back cracked, and it just seized up. It’s hard to breathe. Everything’s painful right now.”

Doctors on the set wouldn’t let her take part in the planned team dance, and Erin was left to tell shocked viewers that Amy was off to a hospital. Two hours later, Amy tweeted to concerned fans: “Waiting on official word, but the doctor thinks it’s muscular. I’m doing OK. Thanks for your support, everyone.”

On this week’s Latin-themed episode with Ricky Martin as guest judge — after his appearance here Saturday for the Keep Memory Alive Gala at MGM Grand Garden Arena — “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” star NeNe Leakes wound up in last place with dance partner Tony Dovolani and was eliminated. Judge Len Goodman gave her a 7 as the lowest score of the night for solos. The other judges scored her an 8 for a total of 31 out of 40.

The judges wound up having to score Amy’s taped dress rehearsal footage because of the injury that prevented her from completing the second team dance. Her Team Loco scored 39 out of a possible 40. For the solo performance before the dash to the hospital, Amy and Derek scored 36 out of a possible 40.

In addition to Amy’s physical injuries, she also revealed in the videotaped rehearsal package that the rigors of the “DWTS” schedule had taken a toll on her relationship with her boyfriend of 18 months, and Derek had to create some comedy moments to solve her stress.

Next week, if doctors allow her to dance, Amy and Derek will face “Dance Moms” star Abby Lee Miller as the guest judge.
