The five-level restaurant-and-nightclub behemoth Hakkasan at MGM Grand celebrated its first anniversary with not a weekend of revelry, but four days and nights of partying with DJ resident headliners Steve Aoki, Calvin Harris, Rev Run, Ruckus, Tiesto, Questlove and Above & Beyond.

For good measure, rock-star couple Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale partied to the sounds of Tiesto on Saturday night. Our Vegas Magazine colleagues kicked off the celebrations Thursday evening hosting a party at the award-winning Cantonese restaurant where food, drink and red envelopes with prizes were aplenty.

The progressive Thursday evening with more than 200 VIPs began at the restaurant, continued to the third-level Ling Ling Lounge for cocktails and ended in the fourth- and fifth-level nightclub, where Aoki, filling in for Bingo Players, led the party people and even received a visit from Tiesto.

The evening at the restaurant included traditional Chinese lion dancers and drums, a branded photo booth area, white dragon atmosphere dancers, Chinese calligraphers and Lady Hakkasan, who was adorned in a gown of red envelopes, a symbol of good luck and fortune. Lady Hakkasan set the evening’s elegant tone by presenting gifts to all who interacted with her.

Culinary stations included a Peking duck area with chefs slicing and serving the signature and popular dish; a mixology station showcasing Hakkasan’s Iron Rose, Buddah’s Palm and Virgin Hakka cocktails; and an interactive dessert display with macarons in myriad flavors and customized chocolate mignardises. Tray-passed taste treats included scallop shumai, radishes (but not your mother’s radishes), almond stir-fry lettuce wraps, soup dumplings, chocolate pearls and Kobe beef.

Afterward, Ling Ling Lounge was the site of a private cocktail reception, followed by Aoki, fresh off the news of his upcoming new album “Neon Future I.”

On Saturday night, Stefani (of No Doubt) and Rossdale (of Bush) held court at Hakkasan. The couple, who recently welcomed Apollo Bowie Flynn to their brood, partied to the sounds of Tiesto. Their evening began at dinner in a party that included Stefani’s brother, Todd Stefani, and his wife, Jennifer, and longtime friend and hairstylist Danilo.

Arriving just after 10 p.m., the beautiful new mom and fashionista, who by many accounts was refreshingly sweet and friendly, donned a black leather studded ALC jacket, blue suede L.A.M.B. pumps and a Kelly Wearstler clutch. Post-dinner, the group made their way to a VIP booth on the main stage as partygoers cheered on Stefani and Rossdale — Stefdale or Rossfani? — and partied the night away. Questlove ruled Ling Ling Club on the third floor.

Just before Tiesto took over the decks, Hakkasan Group CEO Neil Moffitt joined the Dutch superstar as a seven-tier cake adorned with a Chinese dragon and topped with the Hakkasan emblem was presented to commemorate the anniversary. The men shook hands and congratulated each other on an amazing year as confetti burst into the air.

Calvin Harris took center stage in the main room Friday night, while Rev Run and Ruckus ruled Ling Ling Club, and it was all about Above & Beyond in a pounding set Sunday night that also included balloons, confetti, champagne angels and birthday celebrations.

Hakkasan Group execs Alex Cordova and Omar Gutierrez discussed Hakkasan ahead of the four days of celebrations. Thanks to Al Powers and Brenton Ho of Powers Imagery for their photo galleries of the first-anniversary weekend.
