Science-fiction burlesque(?!) is en route to Las Vegas

The Sizzling Sirens perform during the Burlesque Hall of Fame Weekend’s Tournament of Tease on Saturday, June 1, 2013, at the Orleans.

Villains and vixens will gather this weekend as Las Vegas-based burlesque troupe Nerdlesque hosts its new show “Nerdlesque! Evil Geniuses: The Ones We Love to Hate” on Saturday night at the Sci-Fi Center.

Nerdlesque’s monthly show casts off typical vintage, feminine burlesque themes in favor of “nerd-inspired” performances tapped from science fiction and fantasy. Saturday night’s show will draw from the likes of “Labyrinth,” “Star Wars” and more for an evening devoted to famous villains.

Los Angeles-based burlesque performers Greta Grenade and Mercury Troy will guest star alongside the troupe’s locals Jeffrey Xerxes Brice, La Rosa Muerta, Precari Ous Lea, Sarah X and host Anita Brassiere.

The show begins at 9 p.m. Tickets are $10 and can be purchased online through Brown Paper Tickets.
