As Robin Leach settles into a northern Italian lake district lifestyle before his traditional summer vacation under the Tuscan sun in Italy — plus Lake Como and Lake Maggiore this year — many of our Strip personalities have again stepped forward in his absence to pen their own words of wisdom. We continue today with hair guru to the stars Michael Boychuck.
It’s that time of year again when my longtime friend Robin Leach enjoys his annual trip to Italy. I am happy to take this opportunity to reflect on the past year and look forward to what’s to come while Robin enjoys some well-deserved R&R!
It’s been a busy year for us at my salon Color in Caesars Palace, as well as at LifeSpa + Salon at Life Time Fitness in Summerlin.
As official beauty sponsor to the Miss Nevada USA Organization, which is led by my great friend Shanna Moakler, I was ecstatic to watch Nevada’s very own Nia Sanchez crowned Miss USA this year. It has been amazing to work with Nia the past few months and to give her the winning hair color for the Miss USA stage.
In addition to working with Nia, I have been lucky to work with other beauty queens including 2011 Miss USA Alyssa Campanella, 1995 Miss USA Shanna Moakler, 2013 Miss Nevada USA Chelsea Caswell and 2012 Miss Nevada USA Jade Kelsall, among others.
These ladies are beautiful and talented, and I’m happy to be able to have them as clients, but even happier to call them friends. I also would like to recognize one of Color’s very own stylists, Lavetta Schneider, who was crowned Mrs. Nevada America this year. Way to go, Lavetta!
This year has been busier than ever with the official launch of my one-of-a-kind Online Hair Academy. Whether you are a professional stylist or just want to know more about hair technique, students can learn my secrets and tips for hair care, styling, extensions, coloring and more with the convenience of learning from home.
Combined with the endless talents of my team of artists, this is an opportunity you will not want to miss. My good pal Robin even narrated one of the videos for me. Thanks again, Robin!
What’s so great and unique about my Online Hair Academy is that the trends and tips you learn are the same ones that we use on a day-to-day basis at my salons. My Online Hair Academy features tutorial videos using models and clients like Angel Porrino, Chelsea and Jade, making this program even more special to my students and me.
We currently have students from all over the world. Want to check it out? Visit OnlineHairCourses.com.
I’ve also been busy traveling this year, most recently to Macau with Robin. We had a great time, and, while I was there, I had an eye out for new trends and styles. The latest local hairstyles I encountered while abroad gave me inspiration for my own salons, as well as for the Online Hair Academy.
Another project that I am very happy to share with you is that I will now be the first in the United States to use the Hairdreams Laserbeamer Nano System at Color. This new piece of technology is making waves in the hair industry for being the easiest, fastest and newest hair technology available.
At the press of a button, the process of putting in hair extensions becomes a piece of cake, as your hair will be full of luscious locks in about 45 minutes. What makes the Hairdreams Laserbeamer Nano System so great is the bonding process that makes your extensions last even longer.
Lastly, I have some big news: I am proud to continue my partnership with Life Time Fitness with a new LifeSpa + Salon set to open at a new Green Valley location this fall. I’m looking forward to sharing more details with you very soon.

Transport yourself to the opulent and excessive Roman Empire at Caesars Palace. But the ever-changing Caesars Palace is far from ancient. The hotel and casino is constantly raising the bar for what visitors can expect in a Vegas resort experience.
Caesars Palace features 3,348 rooms and suites in five towers, including the new luxury boutique Nobu Hotel and Restaurant, which opened Feb. 4, 2013, in the totally remodeled Centurian Tower. Caesars features 129,000 square feet of gaming space, including the Strip’s largest poker room and a 250-seat sports book. Other amenities include about two dozen restaurants, a four-level shopping mall, four pools, a spa, Pure and Poetry nightclubs and Pussycat Dolls.
Dining options include restaurants from world-renown chefs Guy Savoy, Wolfgang Puck, Bobby Flay, Gordon Ramsay and, on Feb. 4, 2013, Nobu Matsuhisa.
You never know what characters you’ll run into at Caesars with regular performers like Jerry Seinfeld, Bette Midler, Elton John and maybe even the emperor himself.
