Call it a very sweet celebration, so much so that you would have thought free money was being given away. It took three days of partying to open the first Las Vegas location of the cupcake retailer Sprinkles.

Newly redheaded reality TV star Holly Madison performed the official opening ceremony at Sprinkles in the Linq on Friday at center Strip. Her first order of duty was to withdraw a cupcake from the 24-hour Cupcake ATM. It can serve 600 assorted cupcakes a day.

Holly’s second mission was to pick up packages of mini cupcakes for her daughter Rainbow and doggy cupcakes for her pooches. Then it was time for her to select her favorite vanilla-flavored cupcake and chocolate ice cream atop a red velvet waffle cone — it was a perfect match for her new red locks.

The fun had begun two days earlier, first with a friends-and-family event and then Thursday with a VIP corporate and media celebration. Both were packed with people in and outside the store, on the patio and spilling down the Linq walkways.

Sprinkles founder Candace Nelson welcomed the lines of her enthusiastic guests and presented Holly with a $5,000 check to donate to the Animal Foundation.

Said Holly: “I’m really excited about Sprinkles coming to Las Vegas and the Linq. Visitors to Las Vegas and locals will love it.”

Candace, a Food Network dessert judge, added: “Bringing Sprinkles to Las Vegas at last is a dream. My husband and I have been working on this for years looking for a perfect location, and we found it here at the Linq in the shadow of the High Roller.”

We’ll post my interview with Candace and her incredible global cupcakes success story Wednesday. Meantime, MGM Resorts this morning officially confirmed my original exclusive story about Holly’s new burlesque speakeasy at Mandalay Bay posted last Dec. 11.
