The rumor mill in Hollywood is in overdrive with Wicked Whispers & Racy Rumors that “Booty” pop diva Jennifer Lopez is about to sign a mini-residency contract for 72 shows in Axis at Planet Hollywood, home of Britney Spears’ residency show “Britney: Piece of Me.”

It’s the Duel of the Divas.

We reported two weeks ago that an announcement of new star signings at the Colosseum in Caesars Palace and Axis, both part of Caesars Entertainment, was imminent.

TMZ is reporting that their producers have seen J.Lo’s proposed contract, which calls for 24 weeks of shows in one to two years performed three times a week with a nightly pay of $350,000 per show.

Jenny from the Block was at Britney and Shania Twain’s shows this past weekend with her manager Benny Medina. Insiders describe it to me as “a field trip for her to see if she liked the feel of the showrooms and the Strip.”

No word yet as to when J.Lo’s shows might start and what the production would include, but her tour calendar is empty.

Her debut “Dance Again” world tour in 2012 with ex-husband Marc Anthony and Enrique Iglesias, who performed at Mandalay Bay with Pitbull one week ago, joining her for stops grossed more than $52.6 million and was seen by 745,000 fans.

She performed at Mandalay Bay on May 26 and Aug. 18 in 2012.
