Mirage headliner entertainer Terry Fator is officially engaged this morning after proposing to his new girlfriend Angie Fiore on Monday night.
It was a traditional marriage proposal. Terry dropped to one knee singing “This Guy’s in Love With You” and slipped an engagement ring on the fourth finger of her left hand.
After she said a tearful yes, he had a bouquet of red roses waiting for her, too. It was his version of the song that she sang to steal his heart at his 50th birthday party. Thanks to Cashman Photos for the new photographs of the big moment.
Vegas DeLuxe first revealed their blossoming romance in mid-June when Terry introduced Angie, a Dallas catering event planner and chef, to his friends while celebrating his 50th birthday.
Terry and Angie told me at that time that it was a whirlwind romance: “It’s the real deal. We both knew instantly that we were meant to be.”
They were introduced to each other by Terry’s sister, Debi, at a Texas fundraiser concert at which the singing impressionist ventriloquist performed.
“She had no idea who I was when we were introduced,” he said.
Terry and Angie clicked so quickly that Debi set them up for lunch the next day, and they’ve been together ever since.
Sadly, Debi died just weeks ago from her long battle with rheumatoid arthritis, so she won’t get to share their engagement excitement or witness the wedding.
Terry moved her from Dallas to his Las Vegas home earlier this summer for her to have maximum medical care and comfort.
Terry separated from his second wife, Hawaiian-born beauty model Taylor Makakoa, who still works as his onstage assistant in the Mirage show, in February.
Angie has been flying to Las Vegas on weekends for three months now to spend time with Terry but continued to run her business in Dallas during the week.
For Terry’s 50th birthday party, she wrote a version of the Dionne Warwick and Dusty Springfield hit “This Girl’s in Love With You” with the help of Lon Bronson, whose Las Vegas band played it for her singing in Terry’s garden.
The “America’s Got Talent” champion, who can perform more than 100 ventriloquist impersonations, sat at the side of his swimming pool as she sang the song to him.
After kissing and hugging each other, Terry said: “That was really beautiful. I am so lucky to have found her.”
Angie created a birthday cake in the shape of Mickey Mouse from the first photo of themselves together.
“We both love Disneyland,” Terry chuckled. “We have so many similar interests,” said Angie. “We’re both all about family.”
Terry’s PR representative Alissa Kelly confirmed this morning: “He proposed last night during the show — she said yes. Now they are officially engaged.”
