Robin Leach’s Note: I am very grateful to all the guest columnists who filled in for me while I was away this summer in Sardinia, Italy and Croatia, then with family in La Jolla, Calif. Thank you all, sincerely.

I hope that our readers found the guest columns as interesting, entertaining and diverse as I did. They covered all aspects of the Entertainment Capital of the World.

Today, Aliante President Terry Downey says that we don’t have to leave town for a great vacation. We can stay right here at home.

People travel to Las Vegas from all over the world and, no matter what language you speak, the city’s name resonates with flashing lights, dollar signs, luxury and ultimate escape from daily life.

As Las Vegas locals, the city’s hospitality core is our driving business — we live and breathe it every day. There are times, however, when there’s a need to retreat, relax, recharge and refresh.

But who wants to spend time packing, booking travel plans and paying additional expenses? That’s why I’m proud to offer Aliante Casino + Hotel + Spa as the ideal staycation destination for our Las Vegas neighbors.

Aliante is a AAA Four Diamond Resort that combines the amenities and personality of Las Vegas with serenity, comfort and individualized care of a neighborhood inn.

Located just 25 minutes from the Strip, Aliante sits at the foot of the mountains adjacent to a deluxe 18-hole golf course and boasts picturesque views of the famous skyline and surrounding nature.

As a father and grandfather, I understand the importance of taking a vacation that all family members can enjoy. And we all know that can be a challenge, especially on a budget.

During Las Vegas’ summers, a pool is essential. The Deck, our resort-style pool, is flanked by palms and features private cabanas, whirlpool and stocked bar serving finger foods, snacks and signature drinks, beer and wine.

It wouldn’t be Nevada without gaming and entertainment, which we take great pride in for our guests. When we became an independent property in 2012, I made it a mission to ensure that we stayed on the cutting edge of gaming promotions and programs.

Aliante features more than 100,000 square feet of gaming space, award-winning Race & Sports Book, all-paper bingo room and Players Club, including a number of exclusive reward programs, as well as mobile app.

For non-betting fun, we have revamped our 650-seat Access Showroom to host headliners focusing on country, jazz and standup comedy. Recent performers include Brett Eldredge, Parmalee, Eli Young Band, Ottmar Liebert and Dave Koz and comedians Faizon Love and “Last Comic Standing” winner Rod Man.

Old-school music lovers like myself can groove every Friday night with our All-Star Friday Night lineup and local entertainment at ETA Lounge. And because we enjoy interacting with guests of all ages, we offer an expansive arcade along with Aliante Regal 16 & IMAX for kids.

Las Vegas has recently become known worldwide as a culinary destination, and we work hard to uphold that reputation. We offer five signature restaurants: Mexican cantina and eatery the Salted Lime; classic Las Vegas experience with Medley Buffet; twist on American and European favorites with Bistro 57; unique 24-hour farm-to-table cafe FARM 24-7; and MRKT Sea & Land, our signature steak and seafood restaurant with vertical herb and vegetable garden GRDN.

From one table to another, our boutique spa Relax offers massages, nail treatments, skin therapy and more with discounts available for locals. A more intimate setting means we can give you the personalized attention you deserve — without emptying your wallet in the process.

Located off the 215 and Aliante Parkway, we’re just a few minutes from Las Vegas Motor Speedway and Clark County Shooting Range and right next door to Aliante Golf Club. We offer stay-and-play packages for golf, racing, movies … if you want it, it’s likely we’ve got it!

I invite you to escape to luxury and experience how just a half-hour drive can feel a world away. Aliante: A little farther. A lot nicer.

Check out our other guest column today by Lou Sassetti, Bravo Brio Restaurant Group chef and district partner who reinforces today’s theme: Why travel the world when we have such great dining here — and not just on the Strip.
