Country music star Craig Morgan will perform the national anthem at Sunday’s NASCAR race at Las Vegas Motor Speedway with The Atlantic City Boys as pre-race entertainment.
There might be disappointment that there is no Hauler Parade this year along the Las Vegas Strip since the trucks came all the way from Atlanta, and NASCAR scheduled a full-day testing session Thursday.
But fans flocking here will certainly have plenty of music throughout the weekend all over LVMS and incredible opportunities to meet the racecar stars up close and personal.
Bands and performers will keep the music moving: Chris Heers Band, Backwater Blues, Vinyl Vault, The Scotty Alexander Band, Red Rock Ramblers, Sin City Kiss, Wolf Creek, Ryan Whyte Maloney and The Moanin’ Black Snakes.
Additionally, Backwater Blues and a gospel choir will perform at the Winner’s Circle stage in Neon Garage on Saturday and Sunday morning. NASCAR Weekend begins Thursday, with a free practice session that runs from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Stratosphere Pole Day is Friday.
The Xfinity Series Boyd Gaming 300 takes place at 1 p.m. Saturday, and the weekend’s main attraction is Sunday with the Kobalt 400 at 12:30 p.m. and televised on Fox.
NASCAR fans will have the opportunity to get into the driver’s seat and experience the excitement of race weekend for four days with a driver-simulator experience at the Mirage starting Thursday.
Also at the Mirage: Danica Patrick and Tony Stewart’s Q+A in the sports book, celebrity appearances and live NASCAR viewings all complimentary and open to the public.
NASCAR’s SiriusXM radio host Claire B. Lang will broadcast live, with Mirage headliner celebrities Terry Fator and Ron White joining Stewart Haas Racing drivers.
The Roush Fenway Racing team will continue its 2016 Fan Invasion with autograph signings at Fanatics Trackside Super Store at LVMS, with team owner Jack Roush and Sprint Cup drivers Greg Biffle, Trevor Bayne and Ricky Stenhouse Jr. Roush Xfinity Series drivers Bubba Wallace and Ryan Reed also will be there.
Greg, who will power the No. 16 Cheez-It Ford this weekend, said, “Las Vegas has some of the most passionate fans on the circuit, and hopefully we’ll get to meet as many of them as we can on Friday at the track.”
Roush Fenway is the winningest team in NASCAR history, and now in its 29th season, is co-owned by Jack Roush of the Boston Red Sox and English Premier League’s Liverpool Football Club.
