Singer Pitbull returned to Axis at Planet Hollywood on Saturday night with his resident show “Time of Our Lives,” and Mr. Worldwide had one big surprise guest up his black dress shirt sleeve: fellow Axis headliner Jennifer Lopez.
J.Lo appeared toward the end of the 100-minute show from beneath the top of the raised stage for “On the Floor” in a gold flapper mini-dress that showed off her trademark derriere and legs and re-energized the audience and evening.
The all-too-short guest stint ended with the superstars giving each other hugs and kisses and thanking each other.
Mr. 305, the ultimate party ringleader and hype man, also told the audience at Axis, to great applause: “We need to take all the (expletive deleted, but it rhymes with fothermucking) energy in here to make certain that (Donald) Trump is not elected!”
Otherwise, the evening was exactly what fans of Pitbull, who is at Axis through March 26, have come to expect in a Pitbull show (and this journalist can attest firsthand, having seen Pitbull headline in concert at least four times now in Las Vegas):
• A high-energy, 100-minute show with all of his hit dance songs with collaborators J.Lo, her ex-husband Marc Anthony, Chris Brown, Christina Aguilera, Enrique Iglesias, Usher, Ke$ha, Ne-Yo and more.
• Snippets of hits by Calvin Harris, Lenny Kravitz, Nirvana, Survivor and many more — how’s that for diversity?
• His signature Miami suits — black jacket, white jacket, black slacks — and black shades. (As Pitbull says, from Miami to Las Vegas — or the city of vice to the city of sin).
• Standing and dancing the entire time because this is a Pitbull show.
• Messages about turning negatives into positives; hard work payoff off; diversity of everything (race, culture, viewpoints); and partying hardcore.
Additionally, in honor of Pitbull’s second Las Vegas residency, the City of Las Vegas declared Friday, March 11, as “Pitbull Day.”
Pitbull’s use of GTA (groin thrust autopilot) has lessened in recent concerts. Axis at Planet Hollywood also is home to Britney Spears’ “Britney: Piece of Me” and J.Lo’s “All I Have.” Lionel Richie begins his residency at Axis on April 27.

Catering to the young and modern crowd, Planet Hollywood is a one-stop shop for entertainment with its massive shopping mall, slew of restaurants, spacious casino and clubs.
The ambiance of the casino is retro-chic meets high-tech with black granite floors throughout and colorful LED lights throughout the space. The theme carries into the 100,000 square-foot casino with 250 flat screens topping off slot machines. The casino is also home to 87 tables, a sports book and a poker room.
There's also the Miracle Mile Shops, one Vegas' largest malls, with 140 stores including BCBG Max Azaria, bebe, Urban Outfitters and The Discovery Channel Store.
Following an afternoon of shopping, guests can satisfy their appetites at one of the gourmet restaurants in Planet Hollywood, like the non-traditional approach to steakhouses at Strip House or check out the exotic Far East motif at KOI restaurant and lounge. And if guests are still looking for more, they can spend the after hours at Privé, Triq or Krave nightclubs.
Perhaps one of the resorts biggest attractions came in March with the addition of "Peepshow." The naughty twist on the story of Little Bo Peep is modern-day spin on the run-of-the-mill Vegas topless review. The "Peepshow" stage has seen visiting celebs like Scary Spice Mel B, "Dancing with the Stars" Kelly Monaco and Playboy's Holly Madison.
