“Mindfreak Live!” magician Criss Angel described British blonde bombshell Chloe Crawford as a “triple threat” when he told me this morning that she will co-star in his new magic production opening at the Luxor in May.
And Chloe, who used to dance in “Fantasy” at the Luxor, told me: “I’m beyond words. To be working with Criss Angel, Cirque du Soleil and this incredible cast of the most talented artists is truly beyond my wildest dreams. We’ve been working nonstop to bring the best, most original magic experience to the Luxor. It’s going to be spectacular.”
Criss added: “Chloe embodies a charismatic, commanding presence, unique talent, dedicated work ethic and intelligence that’s rare. She’s obviously a bombshell and thus a real triple threat!”
Chloe continued: “I’m honored to work with Criss, the biggest and most successful name in magic. Performing in his touring show ‘The Supernaturalists’ and now co-starring in ‘Mindfreak Live!’ has given me the unique opportunity to learn tremendously and live my dream.”
The two magicians posed for me for their first photo together when they walked the blue carpet separately at Cirque du Soleil’s “One Night for One Drop” gala at the Cleveland Clinic Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health last Friday before the benefit performance at the nearby Smith Center.
Chloe, who has danced for 20 years and performed magic for the past decade, starred on “Britain’s Got Talent” as its first-ever female magician. She has modeled in Sports Illustrated and Playboy and worked as an assistant to her then-husband, Murray Sawchuck.
“Mindfreak Live!” begins its preview performances May 11 after a four-week hiatus from “Believe,” in which Criss currently stars. It shuts down after more than 3,000 performances on April 17, as I reported last Thursday. Criss has set June 23 as the official gala premiere for “Mindfreak Live!”
Criss’s second female magician, Krystyn Lambert, who was on tour with Chloe in “The Supernaturalists,” will continue with the late summer/fall tour of that show. Krystyn has made extensive TV performances and won critical acclaim in the magic community.
Criss took her on as his apprentice, and she was featured on his hit Spike TV series “Believe.” She also appeared in his live show at the Luxor for six months before going on tour with “The Supernaturalists.”
Krystyn starred in the award-winning documentary “Make Believe,” and the U.S. State Department invited her to travel through Asia to share her passions for magic and philosophy in educating teens about critical thinking and personal goal setting.
This dedication prompted Teen Vogue to name her one of the Four Youth Activists to Watch. The Magic Castle in Hollywood awarded Krystyn the coveted Junior Achievement Award, proclaiming her “a magical ambassador throughout the world.”
Criss, who tells me other cast announcements will be made later, summed up in a new release: “I am very excited to sign Chloe, the hottest, most talented female magician. She moves like magic; she will be a force to be reckoned with as she has already surpassed most of the male magicians playing Las Vegas.
“I anticipate even greater things for her. I am also honored to be working with her and Krystyn Lambert, also of ‘The Supernaturalists,’ two of the best female magicians on the planet.”
