Nearly 100 gorgeous girls competed in the 2016 Tropic Beauty Model Search, and our Light nightclub contestant Ednyr Marie representing Mandalay Bay placed fourth.
Trashell Thompson of Atlanta was crowned the new Tropic Beauty swimwear model, with Casey Boonstra of Sydney, Australia, the runner-up.
Another Georgia peach, Caitlyn Feel, was third, and Jennifer Lynn of New York City rounded out the Top Five. Our thanks to videographer Richard Corey for his YouTube video at Daylight Beach Club.
While in Las Vegas for the sixth-annual world finals, the luscious ladies shot photos for their new calendar at Surrender in Steve Wynn’s Encore and Intrigue at Wynn Las Vegas and presented country of origin costumes at Light.
2016 Hair Metal Awards
HEAVY METAL: It was standing room only for Sally Steele’s Vegas Rocks! Hair Metal Awards at Eastside Cannery on Sunday when Twisted Sister was presented with the Lifetime Achievement Award and The Scorpions, at the Joint in the Hard Rock Hotel for three more shows, the Outstanding Lifetime Achievement Award.
Metal goddess Doro Pesch flew from Germany for her first-ever visit to Las Vegas to pick up her Legend Award. Winger and Stephen Pearcy of Ratt fame won Heroes Awards and Frank Banali (Quiet Riot) the Pioneer of Metal Award. Our thanks again to Richard for his red carpet and awards coverage posted on YouTube.
“Mindfreak Live!” at the Luxor star Criss Angel attended with magician showgirl Chloe Crawford. Zowie Bowie’s Chris Phillips was teamed with porn king Ron Jeremy as presenters, and Sally co-hosted with Nick Hawk (“Gigolos”) — Sally appears in the series’ next season.
Sally has just published her book “Rock ’n’ Roll Nun” detailing her exploits with metal musicians during Hollywood’s hysteria. You’ll find me on the back cover quoted: “Sally Steele saw the good, the bad, the beautiful and the ugly of living in Hollywood in its rock and roll heydaze.”
BRAVO! To Mandalay Bay headliner Carlos Santana and his team from House of Blues for visiting the Las Vegas Rescue Mission to serve residents a soulful meal from the HOB culinary team.
Carlos and his support group also held a water drive and provided 8,400 bottles of water for the homeless community that Las Vegas Rescue Mission provides for each day. Additionally, the group donated more than 500 refillable pouches that the homeless can use throughout summer.
John Fogal, director of Program Services and Community Relations, took Santana on a tour through the mission’s onsite dorms where they house 120 to 150 residents who are working to get back to normal lives by getting help with addiction, education and job placement.
Carlos resumes his residency Wednesday through May 29 and returns for performances in September and November.

Shock Hollywood author Ian Halperin, who uncovers more scoops than tabloid headlines, says that Caitlyn Jenner has “made sex change regret” remarks, hinting that she might de-transition back to being Bruce Jenner.
Ian, a Canadian investigative journalist who has authored numerous tell-all books, including “Unmasked: The Final Years of Michael Jackson” and “Hollywood Undercover: The Sordid Secrets of Tinseltown,” researched his new book “The Kardashian Dynasty” and uncovered the tidbit that Caitlyn might return to Bruce within two years.
Ian says one of Caitlyn’s friends told him, “It hasn’t been easy for Caitlyn. It has been very hard.”
All 10 of the Madison Mannequins on display at the Las Vegas Fashion Council’s Art Live! gala last Thursday at the Smith Center were sold, with one anxious male bidder buying five of them! Clint Holmes served as MC and was just as curious as I as to what the mystery bidder planned to do with the avant-garde decorated female-form mannequins.
