Too many people, too little space and too much missing paperwork made the Clark County Democratic Convention at Bally's a miserable experience for nearly 10,000 people. At the end of the day voting was suspended to a later date.

  1. The biggest problem was caused by the corrupt Caucus on January 19th - which was run by the Democratic National Committee (DNC) and the Nevada STATE Democratic Party (NSDP) NOT the Clark County Democratic Party!

That is the first most important FACT! The NSDP failed to get any paperwork or data from some 200 precincts in Clark County and the list of s/elected Delegates was promised to be broken down by Precinct, Primary and Alternate Delegates s/elected for EACH Campaign - that did NOT happen! All we got was a list of about 6,000 names with 1,000 missing and no breakdown as to whether the Delegates were for Obama or Clinton and Primary or Alternates - so, how was Clark County suppossed to know who was who and fix this catastrophe?

We needed to focus on the 3,500 or so PRIMARY and ALTERNATE Delegates that were needed to go to the State Convetion (out of about 7,000) - and try to accommodate room for staff, media and guests - that was the honest intention and goal!

That was the main problem that NSDP stuck the County with trying to solve - and Hunt, Stanley and Company went into this with a plan to try and fix it! Whether people know it, or not, or want to believe the truth, or not, we have the best and brightest people we have ever had now leading the Clark County Democratic Party! So, for all of those out there angry and wanting to call for their heads ask yourself one question - WHO are YOU going to replace THEM with? It's insane to be criticizing people unfairly and using a simpleton approach by calling for resignations or removal - who are these angry people working for the Republicans?

The other IMPORTANT FACT is that BOTH Campaigns also had depended on the NSDP to provide a more comprehensive list and saw an opportunity to take advantage and flooded the Convention - and that was the straw that broke the camel's back!

So, we had to PUNT and recess to buy time to fix it!

    D. Taylor's comment that "this (the Clark County Democratic Party) is like the Soviet Union where you go from one line to another line..." is just the kind of irresponsible, emotional rhetoric that the Republicans and McCain will be using against us in the General Election - way to go D. Taylor - who are YOU really working for?

  2. The campaigns are not to blame.....

  3. "Hunt and his team knew that the Obama campaign was suspicious of them because they were seen as helping the Clinton campaign, but still they behaved like exclusionary high schoolers in the cool clique. And Hunt and his team, in the aftermath of their excruciating incompetence, now are trying to blame the campaigns, especially the Obama folks, for a cataclysm of their own making."
