Four energy experts came to the Sun recently to discuss a plan to build three coal-fired power plants in Nevada: Coal power lobbyist Joe Lucas, executive director of American Coalition for Clean Coal Electricity, formerly Americans for Balanced Energy Choices; Lydia Ball, local representative of the Sierra Club and Nevada Clean Energy Campaign, a coalition of environmental groups; Roberto Denis, vice president of energy supply for Sierra Pacific Resources, parent company of Nevada Power Co. and the company proposing a coal plant near Ely, and Tim Hay, former Public Utilities Commission member and former consumer advocate with the Nevada attorney general's office.
