Tax collection per capita in Nevada ranks about 26th in the nation. That is the only fair way to look at whether or not Nevada collects "enough" at least relative to other states.
The main point, Jon and Erin, isn't how much we collect or how much we spend, but how we spend it? We spend $8-9 billion each year. Is the money being spent in the most efficient way, providing the best possible services for the people?
If you can say yes, then advocate more taxes, but I don't think many can say there is simply no waste.
