Smith came to the Sun after graduating from Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles with a bachelor’s degree in humanities. A NASCAR racing buff, Smith also draws a weekly auto-racing cartoon for The Sporting News and is the author of “Nuts for Racing,” a collection of these cartoons.
Smith was the 2011 winner of The Best of The West award for editorial cartooning.
