WASHINGTON (AP) – Gary LeVox (leh-VOH’) of Rascal Flatts, Jamey Johnson and Cynthia Erivo (eh-REE’-voh) will perform at the National Memorial Day Concert on the National Mall in Washington. Bryan Cranston, BD Wong, Jena Malone, Mary McCormack and Broadway stars Ruthie Ann Miles and Patina Miller will take part as well. The National Memorial Day Concert will be shown live on PBS stations on May 26.
TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) – Thanks to a new sponsor, the Arizona Bowl will be known as the “Snoop Dogg Arizona Bowl Presented by Gin and Juice By Dre and Snoop.” It’s the first time an alcohol brand has teamed with a college bowl game. Snoop Dogg says in a statement it’s time to get back to the roots of college football: the colleges, players, competition, community, fan experience and pageantry. The Arizona Bowl will be Dec. 28 in Tucson.
NEW ORLEANS (AP) – Janet Jackson will headline the Essence Festival in New Orleans this summer, rather than play her own gig. Jackson called off her New Orleans concert on July 23. Now she will play the Essence Festival, which runs July 5-7, according to The Times-Picayune. The date she will perform was not announced. It’s Jackson’s fourth time playing at the Essence Festival, which also features a reunion of the Cash Money Millionaires collective.
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) – Miranda Lambert will celebrate her love for pups with a concert in Nashville this fall. Lambert will mark the 15th anniversary of her nonprofit MuttNation Foundation with a show on Oct. 5. The rest of the lineup will be announced soon.
