The Palms is expanding its existing parking garage structure in a project that will add two levels and 573 additional spots.
The plan, which is part of the property’s $620 million renovations, was approved Wednesday by the Clark County zoning commission. The structure, currently at five levels, will grow to seven levels and 85 feet high. It will be 200,000 square feet and have 3,100 spots.
The garage will remain open during construction, said Alex Acuna, a Palms spokesperson.
Additionally, a connector will be built to allow access from the adjacent Palms Place to the garage and then to the casino without having to walk outside.
The project also calls for casino floor expansion to bring 300 new slot machines and 16 table games.
This is part of a three-phase enhancement to the near-Strip property. It will be fully complete in late 2019.

Other parts of the renovation project include the marquee going fully digital, new eateries A.Y.C.E. Buffet, the Lucky Penny Café and a new authentic Hong Kong-style Dim Sum restaurant.
The Palms is also refreshing the Pearl Concert Theater and adding new nightlife options, with the APEX Social Club going in the space that formerly housed Ghostbar and the Camden Cocktail Lounge. A new center bar and high-limit gaming area in the existing casino floor are also planned.
