Best Bets: Dave Matthews Band, Christina Aguilera, Artie Butler and more for your Las Vegas weekend

Christina Aguilera

Denise Truscello

Christina Aguilera is back on the Strip this weekend.

Two icons are wrapping up their current residency runs on the Strip this weekend: Cher at Park Theater and Mariah Carey at the Colosseum. We’re expecting Carey to return to Caesars Palace this year for more performances of “The Butterfly Returns,” but it seems less likely that “Classic Cher” will have additional dates, so true fans better catch her while they can. Here are some other big-time entertainment options in Las Vegas this weekend.

DAVE MATTHEWS BAND It’s been more than a decade since the Dave Matthews Band performed in Las Vegas, and that 2009 show was at MGM Grand. Friday night, the Cosmopolitan hosts the jam band favorite for a show that will likely include plenty of music from the 2018 release “Come Tomorrow.” February 28, info at cosmopolitanlasvegas.com.

CHRISTINA AGUILERA She wowed the world with a moving performance of “Ave Maria” at Kobe and Gianna Bryant’s memorial at the Staples Center in Los Angeles earlier this week. Now Aguilera returns to her dazzling “The Xperience” residency at Zappos Theater at Planet Hollywood, hitting the Strip stage through March 7. February 28-29, info at caesars.com.

KEVIN FARLEY He’s spent time at the famous Second City in Chicago, the Laugh Factory in Los Angeles and the Improv in Palm Beach and appeared on TV’s “Curb Your Enthusiasm,” “Comedy Central’s Drunk History” and many more, but you probably know Kevin Farley best as the younger brother of “Saturday Night Live” legend Chris Farley. See if his stand-up style reminds you of his sibling when Kevin takes the Comedy Works stage at the Plaza this weekend. February 28-29, info at plazahotelcasino.com.

VEGAS GOLDEN KNIGHTS FAN FEST With a sizzling-hot seven-game win streak and three more home games at the Fortress in the next week, the Vegas Golden Knights couldn’t have chosen a better time to hold its annual Fan Fest celebration, set for Saturday at the Downtown Las Vegas Events Center. The event is free and open to the public, it starts at 1 p.m. and will feature appearances by players and broadcasters as well as activities and free hats for the first 500 in attendance. February 29, info at dlvec.com.

ARTIE BUTLER Myron’s Cabaret Jazz at the Smith Center for the Performing Arts has hosted many amazing artists but none with such a unique history as Artie Butler, an arranger and composer with dozens of hit records and collaborations with Louis Armstrong, Frank Sinatra, Barry Manilow, Joe Cocker, Barbra Streisand and many more on his resume. Butler will share his amazing story and some of that classic music on Sunday. March 1, info at thesmithcenter.com.
