Updated Wednesday, Feb. 17, 2021 | 10:50 p.m.

Firefighters battled a blaze Wednesday night at the Clark County Wetlands Park that sent smoke billowing and choked the air in the southeast valley for miles.

The fire was reported at the "nature reserve," Las Vegas Fire & Rescue said on Twitter, adding that the Clark County Fire Department and the Bureau of Land Management responded.

The blaze was contained to about 10 acres, officials said about 9:30 p.m., noting no buildings were in danger of burning.

The smoke could be seen and smelled in the Green Valley area in Henderson.
