Police: 2 dead, 7 injured in North Las Vegas shooting

A shooting late Sunday night in North Las Vegas left two people dead and seven injured, according to city police.

Information on a motive or circumstances that led to the mass shooting wasn’t immediately available, complicated by fact that most of the victims self-transported to area hospitals, North Las Vegas Police spokesman Officer Alex Cuevas said.

Officers responded about 11:15 p.m. to West Helen Avenue, near Martin Luther King Boulevard and Carey Avenue, where they found a shooting victim and spent bullets, Cuevas said.

Shortly after, police were summoned to University Medical Center, where multiple victims had arrived, and where one of them died, Cuevas said.

They also responded to St. Rose Dominican hospital in North Las Vegas where another victim died, Cuevas said.

The investigation was ongoing this morning.

Anyone with information was asked to contact police at 702-633-9111. To remain anonymous, contact Crime Stoppers at 702-385-5555 or crimestoppersofnv.com.
