Motorcyclist dead after crash near Strip

A 63-year-old Las Vegas man was killed in a motorcycle crash Friday after hitting a curb and getting thrown from his bike near the intersection of Tropicana Avenue and Koval Lane, Metro Police said.

Police received report of the crash at 6:32 p.m., according to a news release. Evidence at the scene and witnesses indicated a 2001 Harley Davidson Heritage Classic was traveling west on Tropicana in the far-left lane. He drifted to the left and failed to stay in the lane, striking a raised curbed median, police said.

Medical personnel arrived and pronounced the man dead at the scene, police said. His identity was not given and no other details were released.
