Police: Man arrested after fight leads to fatal shooting

A man was arrested after fatally shooing a person Thursday during a fight in the northwest valley, according to Metro Police.

The shooting was reported about 9:50 p.m. near the 1600 block of Crisp Pear Court, a residential neighborhood in the area of Rainbow Boulevard and Vegas Drive.

A man suffering from a gunshot wound was declared dead at the scene, police said.

The victim and the suspect, 36-year-old Clinton McCoy, got into an argument that led to a physical altercation, police said.

During the fight, McCoy took out a handgun and fired one shot, striking the victim, police said.

McCoy was arrested and taken to the Clark County Detention Center, where he was booked on a count of open murder, police said.

The Clark County Coroner’s Office will release the victim’s name, police said.
