The rookie class for the 2008 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series is expected to consist of Patrick Carpentier, Dario Franchitti, Sam Hornish Jr., Michael
McDowell, Regan Smith and Jacques Villeneuve.
Four of the “rookies” – Carpentier, Franchitti, Hornish and Villeneuve -- have combined to win 58 major open-wheel races, three Indianapolis 500s and six major driving championships.
But they'll still be carrying yellow stripes on their rear bumpers this season.
