District Court Judge Michelle Leavitt and two others were subjects of a murder-for-hire plot, authorities said today.
Daimon Devi Hoyt, 42, allegedly solicited Edward Gutierrez to kill Leavitt, prosecutor Sandra DiGiacomo and Bradley Nickell.
The plot was not executed and all three are apparently safe, authorities said.
Leavitt told KLAS she never had a confrontation with Hoyt: “He has behaved like a gentleman. Usually I have a recollection of people who cause problems.”
It’s unclear why Hoyt would target Leavitt, DiGiacomo and Nickell.
In the fall of 2006, Hoyt and two others were arrested in connection with one of the city’s largest theft rings; stolen valuables reportedly included artwork and sports memorabilia.
