Robert Redford, who received ShoWest's first-ever Visionary Award on Tuesday in Las Vegas, has helped bring about change and new ideas to cinema through his Sundance Institute, which supports emerging, independent filmmakers, the Salt Lake Tribune reports today. The annual convention of theater owners and operators is being held this week at the Paris hotel.
