Playoffs on the horizon
We've reached the last week of the high school football regular season in Las Vegas. Case and Ray take a look at the crucial matchups as league champions will be determined.
Division titles are up for grabs Friday night in the final week of prep football’s regular season.
The one game many wouldn’t have predicted: Bishop Gorman at Foothill.
Gorman, a national brand, is storming through local competition and hasn’t surrendered a point in four league games. But Foothill has exceeded expectations by also running the table to set up the unlikely league title game.
We predict that and more in this week’s forecast. Last week, the column went 15-2 to improve to 105-26 on the season.
Virgin Valley at Moapa Valley
Nobody is beating Moapa Valley this year — though the rivalry game will be close. Moapa Valley 23, Virgin Valley 20
Liberty at Desert Pines
This is the week where Liberty kicks it into another gear. Liberty 42, Desert Pines 13
Bishop Gorman at Foothill
I love that Foothill is playing Gorman for the league title. Gorman 50, Foothill 6
Arbor View at Canyon Springs
Aggies gearing up for a playoff run. Arbor View 45, Canyon Springs 8
Coronado at Sierra Vista
Cougars win fifth straight. Coronado 34, Sierra Vista 14
Faith Lutheran at Green Valley
I wouldn’t want to play Green Valley in the playoffs. Green Valley 34, Faith Lutheran 15

Silverado — finally — is challenged. Silverado 35, Desert Oasis 22
Legacy at Palo Verde
Legacy’s defense has been a bright spot for most of the season. Legacy 16, Palo Verde 14
Pahrump Valley at Valley
Trojans win again in Las Vegas. They have become road warriors. Pahrump Valley 31, Valley 16
Las Vegas at Del Sol
Watch out for the Wildcats in the playoffs. Las Vegas 36, Del Sol 0
Chaparral at Cheyenne
This is the week my Cowboys find the win column. Chaparral 34, Cheyenne 23
Spring Valley at Shadow Ridge
Spring Valley has played great defense all year, but it can’t slow down the Mustangs’ rushing attack. Shadow Ridge 42, Spring Valley 13
Rancho at Western
Rams finish the season with a win. Rancho 33, Western 13
SLAM at Eldorado
SLAM will be a contender in the 3A playoffs. SLAM 34, Eldorado 12
