In the face of news that Blue Man Group will begin headlining at Monte Carlo in the fall of 2012, the future of Jabbawockeez at the hotel is in sharper focus today.

The contract for the hip-hop dance troupe’s popular “MUS.I.C.” show has been extended through November. Jabbawockeez’s original contract was to expire next month. An announcement detailing the new extension is expected today.

In an interview Thursday morning, Monte Carlo President Anton Nikodemus spoke to the troupe’s wide appeal.

““We have had a great working relationship with them, and they’ve been extremely successful for us,” he said.

Jabbawockeez perform Thursdays through Saturdays at 9:30 p.m. and Sundays and Mondays at 7:30 p.m. Tickets start at $49, with a $165 VIP meet-and-greet package offered.

Update: MGM Resorts issued a press release formally announcing Jabbawockeez's contract extension. “Jabbawockeez has been an incredible entertainment addition to the property since opening in October,” Nikodemus was quoted in the release. “Their energy, passion and talent have been extremely evident since Day 1, and the success they have achieved at Monte Carlo in such a short period of time has been remarkable. We look forward to the continued partnership with the dance crew and can’t wait to see what they have in store for audiences in the future.”
