A small group of UNLV students who were in Cheng Du, China when a major earthquake struck this week are safe, said UNLV spokesman Dave Tonelli. Of 40 students on a study abroad program there this semester, only five were still in the region at the time of the quake. The study abroad session officially ended last week.
