More on the 51s
The Las Vegas 51s only had five hits Sunday afternoon in losing 3-1 to the Colorado Springs Sky Sox at Cashman Field.
J. P. Arencibia singled to start the fifth inning for Las Vegas and scored the 51s lone run on a RBI groundout from Howie Clark
Las Vegas (2-8) only had one hit in the final four innings, a triple by Russ Adams to leadoff the seventh with the 51s trailing 2-1. Adams was left stranded at third and Colorado Springs added an insurance run in the eighth inning.
Brian Burress (0-2) took the loss for Las Vegas, giving up two runs over six innings with two strikeouts.
The two teams close their four-game series at 7:05 p.m. Monday. The 51s host the Fresno Grizzlies, the San Francisco Giants’ top minor league affiliate, for four games starting Tuesday.
