Three-run seventh helps 51s top Fresno

Jason Lane’s two-run double keyed a three-run seventh inning Wednesday night for the Las Vegas 51s in a 6-4 victory against the Fresno Grizzlies at Cashman Field.

Howie Clark walked and Buck Coats doubled to open the seventh with the game tied at three. Brett Harper followed with a sacrifice fly RBI to give Las Vegas a 4-3 advantage.

Jason Lane’s double to center field plated two and proved to be the difference.

Fresno scored once in the ninth inning before Jeremy Accardo recorded his third save of the year for the 51s. Johan Bayliss (1-0) pitched two scoreless inning in relief for the win.

Las Vegas (4-9) scored twice in the first inning on a solo home run from Clark and a run-scoring single from Randy Ruiz. Clark, Coats and Ruiz each had two hits apiece for Las Vegas.

The teams will play the third game of their four-game series at 7:05 p.m. Thursday at Cashman Field.
