51s fall in extra innings

The Las Vegas 51s were defeated 2-1 in 13 innings on Sunday at the Sacramento River Cats.

The 51s (5-12) scored their lone run in the third inning when Angel Sanchez scored on a Randy Ruiz single. They were held scoreless over the final 10 innings.

Sacramento scored the winning run in the 13th inning on an Eric Munson sacrifice fly.

Las Vegas has dropped three of its last four games and is tied with the Fresno Grizzlies for the least amount of wins in the 16-team Pacific Coast League. The 51s have not won consecutive games this year.

They did get quality pitching Sunday. Six pitchers limited Sacramento to six hits, including reliever Jeremy Accardo retiring all six batters he faced.

Sanchez and Brett Harper each had a pair of hits for the 51s.

The teams will play the third game of their four-game series at 7:05 p.m. Monday.
