The Las Vegas 51s had their three-game winning streak snapped Saturday in a 5-1 defeat at the Nashville Sounds.
A day after hitting four home runs in a 8-1 victory against Memphis, the 51s only had five hits in dropping the first game of a four-game series against Nashville.
Buck Coats doubled to lead off the game for Las Vegas, stole third and scored the 51s’ lone run on a RBI groundout from Randy Ruiz.
Nashville tied the score with a Cole Gillespie solo home run in the third inning. The Sounds scored twice in the sixth and the seventh, including run-scoring single from Angel Salome in both innings, for the win.
The teams resume their series tomorrow at noon.
