Here’s the latest installment of the Play of the Day, which uses odds from the South Point.
Our three sports writers started with a $10,000 bankroll — fictional, of course.
Memphis Grizzlies plus-7.5 at Oklahoma City Thunder: $330 to win $300
The NBA playoffs begin today, so there’s no better place to go with the Play of the Day. And since the league loves to stretch its legs this time of year, we will have playoff games to choose from right up until the NFL kicks off (or at least that’s what it feels like).
The No. 2 seed Thunder are one of the favorites to make the NBA Finals, but their path isn’t easy, starting with the difficult Grizzlies. Memphis wasn’t great this season, but it plays a more plodding style than most teams, which could cause some problems. Plus the Grizzlies have made a habit of playing their best basketball this time of year in recent seasons.
Last year, the Grizzlies beat the Thunder in five games to advance to the Western Conference Finals. While Oklahoma City should certainly be the favorite for this series, I like getting this many points with a team that’s proved to be a pain in the neck.
Standings: Bern (19-14, $10,460), Keefer (16-18, $8,833), Brewer (13-19-3, $6,115)
