Vegas Play of the Day: Connecticut of the WNBA at Indiana

Here’s the latest installment of the Play of the Day, which uses odds from the South Point. Our three sports writers started with a $10,000 bankroll — fictional, of course.

Connecticut of the WNBA at Indiana, Under 142.5 points: $440 to win $400: In a battle of two of the WNBA’s worst teams, this game will feature more than its share of poor offense. In Indiana’s most-recent game against Atlanta, it scored just four points in the fourth quarter.

Indiana averages 76 points per game in five contests, but that number is deceiving considering it has played a double-overtime and overtime game.

Connecticut averages just 70 points per game and is arguably the league’s most offensively challenged team. It ranks 11th out of 12 teams in scoring and dead last in assists, struggling all season to find consistent backcourt play.

I rarely play games under the total, but feel strongly that both teams will struggle to score in the 60s.

Hopefully this gets me started on a hot streak and out of last place in our contest. I know, I’m awful.
