Vegas Play of the Day: Air Force at Utah State

Here’s the latest installment of the Play of the Day, which uses odds from the South Point. Our three sports writers started with a $10,000 bankroll — fictional, of course.

Utah State minus-7 vs Air Force: $550 to win $500: Utah State is coming off an impressive win on the road at BYU, winning straight-up as plus-21 point underdogs.

The Aggies beat Air Force by 32 points last year and has won 18 of its last 19 games in the Mountain West. They are the better team. And, more important, the game is at Utah State.

Air Force isn’t as good as its 4-1 record. Sure, the Falcons beat Boise State and Navy in consecutive weeks, but both games could be considered fluke wins. Boise State gained 200 more yards than Air Force, but couldn’t get out of its own way in committing seven turnovers.

It would take another fluke effort to cover against Utah State. I expect the Aggies to win comfortably.
