Vegas Play of the Day: Toronto at Brooklyn

Here’s the latest installment of the Play of the Day, which uses odds from the South Point. Our three sports writers started with a $10,000 bankroll — fictional, of course.

Toronto Raptors at Brooklyn Nets, Total Over 205: $550 to win $500 If previous games between Brooklyn and Toronto are any indication, the teams will look to push the tempo. Earlier this season, they combined to score 249 points. In the most recent meeting, they scored 202 points.

Brooklyn has won its last four games, scoring 106, 107, 111 and 100 points. Toronto scored 113 points Wednesday against Minnesota, and last week, a pair of Toronto games produced 212 and 219 points. Toronto is fourth in the NBA in scoring at 104.2 points per game.

It’s the end of the NBA season, and it’s tough to handicap effort. But Toronto is jockeying for playoff seeding and Brooklyn’s players are looking to impress to earn a roster spot next season. That should produce plenty of offense to cover the over.
