Vegas Play of the Day: Atlanta at Philly

We've reset the Play of the Day with fresh bankrolls and turned it into a yearly competition. Our three sports writers have re-started with $10,000 bankrolls to continue using on odds from the South Point.

Philadelphia Phillies plus-110 vs. Atlanta Braves: $500 to win $550:: Philadelphia is one of the hottest teams in baseball, winning 12 of its last 14 games. I don’t care about their season record of 41-64 (the worst in baseball) or how they are auditioning younger players for the remainder of the season. Baseball is about betting trends, and Philly deserves a wager today.

It’s a confidence bunch. They trailed 2-0 Saturday against Atlanta, then hit three home runs in scoring 12 unanswered runs in a 12-2 victory. "It looks to me like everybody feels we're going to score runs," Phillies interim manager Pete Mackanin said. "They look like they feel they're going to win. We're on a pretty good roll right now."

Atlanta enters on a six-game losing streak and has struggled to score runs all season. In its past 10 games, the Braves have failed to score more than three runs in each contest.

Current Standings: (as of July 1): Brewer (6-4, $10,900), Bern (4-3, $10,740), Keefer (4-8, $7,266)

Lifetime Records: 2014-15 champion Bern (89-77-1), Keefer (88-93-2), Brewer (77-93-2)
