Vegas Play of the Day: Kansas City Royals at Detroit Tigers

Kansas City Royals at Detroit Tigers under 7.5 runs at even: $350 to win $350

Since May 10, Kansas City starter Johnny Cueto has allowed more than three earned runs only once. His counterpart, Matt Boyd, is making his Detroit debut after coming from Toronto in the David Price deal.

For Cueto, who’s making his second start for the Royals, this should be business as usual. My only concern on the play is Boyd, who could conceivably get shelled. In his last start for Toronto (one of only two at the major league level) Boyd allowed seven earned runs without recording an out.

I’m taking a flyer that he’s figured some things out since then, because I’d at least like to make to the second inning with some hope of winning.
