Vegas Play of the Day: Chicago Sky at New York Liberty

We've reset the Play of the Day with fresh bankrolls and turned it into a yearly competition. Our three sports writers have restarted with $10,000 bankrolls to continue using on odds from the South Point.

Chicago Sky at New York Liberty over 153 points: $440 to win $400

Tonight’s game could go a long way in determining whether blindly betting over on Chicago Sky totals is going to be viable for the remainder of the WNBA season.

So far, Sky games are 14-9 on the over. It’s a trend I noticed a month or so into the season and have played intermittently before recently deciding to try to ride the wave and play over on every game the rest of the year.

After sailing over by 26 last week against Indiana, the last two games haven’t come close to touching the number. Tonight’s total is Chicago’s lowest since July 2 and the third lowest all season. There’s little in the way of information or media coverage, so it’s tough to determine whether shortcomings have been due to injuries, defenses or just luck.

If it keeps going against me, I’ll have to call this one off. But but for now, I’m going ahead with Sky games over.
