Vegas Play of the Day: Philadelphia 76ers vs. New York Knicks

Philadelphia 76ers vs. New York Knicks Total Under 154.5: $330 to win $300

There’s no need for tanking teams to tank during the Summer League today on UNLV’s campus, but I’m hoping they still manage to do so and keep the score low.

Even when they’ve been trying, the 76ers and Knicks haven’t been able to light up a scoreboard. New York is 2-0 in purposefully low-scoring affairs, while Philadelphia is 0-2 in Las Vegas and 1-4 including the Orlando Summer League, which might go to show that they’re really committed to this #trusttheprocess business.

The game tips off at 2:30 p.m. at the Thomas & Mack Center, and I’m going to be interested to see Desert Pines High grad Pierre Jackson for Philadelphia. He’s averaging 12 points in 28 minutes per game while shooting 50 percent beyond the arc, and he seems like the type of player who could easily go off for big numbers in a game like this. I just hope that number isn’t too big.
