Los Angeles Angels minus-130 vs. Arizona Diamondbacks: $390 to win $300: While Arizona starter Robbie Ray has been solid since being promoted from Triple-A to join the Arizona rotation because of injury, I’m not buying the success. He’s given up three earned runs in three starts — a trend I’m predicting ends tonight. Ray has a career 5.63 earned run average and is a prime candidate to be hit hard by the Angels’ Mike Trout and Co.
Los Angeles starter Jered Weaver is on the downside of his career, but always pitches well at home. And, Weaver had a five-start winning streak early this season. It’s going to be a nip-and-tuck game, which always favors the home team batting last. It also favors the team with an experienced pitcher, not someone with a job because of injury.
