Here’s the latest installment of the Play of the Day, which uses odds from the South Point . Our three sports writers started with a $10,000 bankroll — fictional, of course.

Philadelphia Phillies plus-140 vs. New York Mets : $300 to win $420 The Phillies and Mets have played two closely contested games in this series. Friday, Philly won 3-1; Saturday, New York won 3-2. I expect today’s series finale to also be a low-scoring affair. That’s why there’s good value in betting Philly — you’re getting a plus-money price in a game either team can win.

The Mets are a minus-150 favorite because starter Bartolo Colon has been arguably the best pitcher in the National League this season. He enters with a 5-1 record and 2.90 earned run average, striking out 34 batters in 40 innings. But Colon is also 41 years-old and fully capable of a bad outing. With that in mind, and considering how evenly matched the teams have been the past two days, let’s bet the home team.
