We've reset the Play of the Day with fresh bankrolls and turned it into a yearly competition. Our three sports writers have re-started with $10,000 bankrolls to continue using on odds from the South Point.

Green Bay Packer minus-10.5 vs Detroit Lions, $440 to win $400: The Green Bay Packers have dropped two straight games to fall from the ranks of the undefeated. Fortunately for them, Detroit — one of the NFL’s worst teams — comes to Green Bay this morning. The Packers will do more than snap their streak. They will score at will and easily cover the spread.

Detroit is 1-7 against the spread and lost 45-10 to Kansas City two weeks ago in its most recent game. It’s gotten so bad that folks have lost their job, everyone from the offensive coordinator to high-ranking team executives. They’ve clearly hit the reset button, meaning they are simply going through the motions the rest of the season.

Matt Stafford, the Detroit quarterback, is a turnover waiting to happen. He’s thrown 11 interceptions this season, and just 13 touchdowns. Moreover, the Lions have one of the worst rushing attacks in football.

While Green Bay has struggled the past two weeks, including one game where Aaron Rodgers somehow had less than 100 yards passing, the Packers are a stable franchise and Super Bowl contender. They get back on track today.

Current Standings (as of July 1): Brewer (21-17, $10,730), Bern (14-21, $7,455), Keefer (16-27-2, $5,701)

Lifetime standings: 2014-15 Champion Bern (95-94-1), Keefer (100-111-4), Brewer (90-104-2)
