Vegas Play of the Day: Washington Redskins at New York Giants

We've reset the Play of the Day with fresh bankrolls and turned it into a yearly competition. Our three sports writers have restarted with $10,000 bankrolls to continue using on odds from the South Point.

New York Giants minus-3.5 vs. Washington Redskins: $440 to win $400

The Giants should be 2-0. Instead, thanks to some bone-headed clock and situation decisions, plus a little bad luck, New York is 0-2 with another NFC East foe coming to town tonight.

The good news long term is that this division doesn’t appear to be any good, so unless Philadelphia magically flips the switch — still possible, but not likely — New York isn’t out of anything. With Dallas’ Tony Romo and Dez Bryant out for extended periods, I’d make the case that the winless Giants are the NFC East’s best team, and if that’s true, they need to prove it tonight.

Washington is still the complete mess we all thought they were in management, but they have some players and, at least for now, it doesn’t appear to be an easy mark. That said, I think New York goes out and crushes Washington tonight.

Eli Manning has been throwing the ball all over the field, and considering their frustrations with the early record, I think New York is going to try to put this one away early. And they’re good enough to do it, as long as they don’t screw up the fourth quarter again.
