Vegas Play of the Day: Mets at Yankees

We’ve entered the third season of the annual South Point-lined Play of the Day competition, effective July 1.

Starting bankrolls have reset to $10,000, with the maximum bet being to win $1,000 and the minimum wager $300. Ray Brewer won the 2015-2016 season, after Taylor Bern prevailed in 2014-2015.

New York Mets (plus-120) at New York Yankees: $400 to win $480: In July, New York Mets pitcher Bartolo Colon gave up at least five earned runs in every other start while notching victories in the other ones. As long as that pattern holds — and there’s no reason it should, but let’s go with it — Colon is in line for a solid start tonight in the Subway Series.

The Mets are beat up but have averaged five runs per game while hitting the over in five straight games, so the offense has been there of late. All we need is Colon to deliver against a Yankees team that has covered in just two of their last seven games.
