LAS VEGAS (Aug. 5, 2014) – Mark Haley, president of Smart City Networks, announced today the company has renewed its contract to continue its role as the exclusive telecommunications partner for the Washington State Convention Center (WSCC). The new contract will extend the partnership between Smart City and the venue for another seven years with three one-year extension options. The renewal follows a competitive request for proposal (RFP) phase.

Smart City Networks, doing business as Convention Communication Provisioners Inc. (CCPI), has provided telecommunications services for the facility for 15 years. In responding to the WSCC RFP, Smart City partnered with Xirrus to custom design a wireless network for the venue to meet the needs of the WSCC’s customers in terms of speed and capacity. Smart City, a Xirrus Gold Partner, will install a network of Xirrus arrays and access points for an effective wireless solution at the WSCC, encompassing six floors and housing many high-tech events.

“Smart City/CCPI has been a trusted partner of the Washington State Convention Center over the years and in its proposal response, they demonstrated a thorough understanding of our customers’ needs,” said Jeff Blosser, President and CEO of the Washington State Convention Center Public Facilities District. “CCPI’s technical designs, combined with that customer knowledge, made the company the right choice for our facility. We are excited to offer the best networking experience in our industry at the Washington State Convention Center.”

CCPI will continue to provide comprehensive telecommunications and Internet services for the venue’s wide range of international events and trade shows including PAX Prime, Northwest Flower and Garden, PASS SQL, and Emerald City ComiCon. The company’s services include providing network cabling, high-speed Internet, turnkey data networking services and WiFi.

“Smart City/CCPI appreciates the opportunity to continue our long and successful partnership with the Washington State Convention Center,” Haley said. “We are excited to develop a wireless solution that meets the demands of the WSCC’s customers well into the future.”

CCPI will employ a dedicated team of telecommunications professionals, led by Jim Snook, regional director of Smart City’s Northwest operations, to meet the technological needs of exhibitors and show attendees.
